Despite the adage not to judge a book by its cover, it's kinda hard not to just want to pick up and devour each of these books, based on their covers only. In a sea of a billion books, I need something to grab me and pull me in. Sometimes it's the book cover, other times a review I read or a recommendation from a friend. But above all, beautiful design is a big attraction in all aspects of my life so it's no wonder these six books caught my eye.

Movies that Move You: Upstream Color

Upstream Color // A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.

As a fan of Shane Carruth's Primer, I desperately wanted to see his newest film Upstream Color. As with Primer, this film stunned me with its disjointed narrative and hypnotic cinematography. It weaves together images of life, love, nature and the question of whether one can truly overcome an emotional loss.

Window Shopping: West Elm

I don't know about you, but I love to window shop on the West Elm site. Even though it would take winning the lottery for me to be able to afford anything they sell, I still like to browse and pick out items I'd decorate my future home with. At the very least, these items will inspire me to find beautiful things whenever I am out and about shopping! I hope you enjoy them as well!

Meet the Cat: Ben

I would like to introduce you to my cat Ben! 

He is my baby boy and I love him to pieces! I adopted him in 2010 - the picture on the left hand corner is from his first day home. Isn't he cute as a button? He was quite the rascal as a kitten. He spent his nights biting the feet and toes of his mama! Ha! But now, he's pretty grown up and mature... except when he gets into his crazy kitty modes and runs around the house like a madman. As you can see, he loves reading tabloids. He also enjoys playing cat games on the iPad. He has many cat friends and likes cuddling with his mama the best. He is the biggest snuggle bug ever!
